Digital Marketing for CPA Firms: The Phillips Business Group Case Study

Digital marketing for CPA firms

Client overview

Tiffany Phillips had already done the hard part.

She’d built a tax-strategy practice that saves seven-figure entrepreneurs 30 to 50% on their taxes. She’d written a book about it. She’d recorded 375 episodes of the Small Business Finance Podcast and passed 240,000 downloads. By any honest measure, she was an authority in her field.

There was just one problem. If you went looking for her online, you’d struggle to find her.

Her website was dated and didn’t reflect the quality of her work. Her presence in Google search was thin. And the AI tools people now use to ask “who’s a good tax strategist near me?” had almost nothing to pull from. All that expertise, and no real digital home for it.

That’s where we came in.

Challenges & constraints

When Tiffany first reached out in 2024, her message was never the issue. It was everything around it.

Here’s what we were starting with:

What we built (and keep building)

This was never a one-and-done project. We’ve been Phillips Business Group’s marketing team since 2024, and the work runs across five connected pieces.

A website worth sending people to

We rebuilt her site from the ground up on WordPress. Faster, cleaner, and structured around one job: getting the right visitor to book a discovery call. For the first time, the design actually looks like the work behind it.

Found on Google and on AI: SEO, AEO and GEO

Most marketing for accountants stops at “rank on Google.” We went further. We optimized her site for traditional search (SEO), for the answer engines behind AI assistants (AEO), and for generative tools like ChatGPT that increasingly recommend businesses by name (GEO). On top of that, we publish fresh blog content every month to keep building that visibility. The aim is simple: when someone is looking for a tax strategist, Tiffany turns up, whether they type it into Google or ask an AI.

A YouTube channel, started from nothing

Tiffany wanted to be on YouTube but had no setup, no strategy, and no time to edit. So we took the whole thing off her plate. We launched the channel, mapped a content plan around the exact topics her buyers search for (cutting their tax bill, surviving an audit, real-estate strategy), then scripted, edited, and published long-form videos on a consistent schedule.

Social content that keeps her top of mind

Between videos, we keep her visible with LinkedIn and Facebook content that reinforces her authority and quietly points people back to the website and the channel.

Reporting that keeps us honest

Every month, Tiffany gets a straight answer on performance: GA4, Google Search Console, SEO, AEO, and her channel numbers, all in one place. No vanity metrics, no hand-waving.

What & Changed

The YouTube channel is the clearest proof, because we built it from absolute zero.

In the first half of 2026 (January 1 to June 14), it pulled in:

And it’s still picking up speed. Against the previous six months, views were up 15%, subscriber growth was up 68%, and watch time nearly doubled at +96%. There was no ad budget behind any of it. Just the right strategy and the discipline to keep publishing.

Meanwhile, the CPA who was hard to find online now has a website that converts, content that ranks, and a real presence on the platforms where her clients actually spend their time.

In Tiffany's words

Lets address your questions today!

For accounting and CPA firms, it usually covers a conversion-focused website, SEO to rank on Google, AEO and GEO so AI tools surface and recommend the firm, blog and content writing, video and YouTube, social media, and monthly reporting. For Phillips Business Group, we run all of these as one managed service.

It depends on the starting point, but results compound over time. Phillips Business Group's YouTube channel was built from zero and reached 213,667 views and 1,040 subscribers in the first half of 2026, with watch time up 96% over the prior six months.

Yes. People search YouTube for tax and money answers every single day. With the right strategy and consistent publishing, a CPA firm can build a real, qualified audience. Tiffany's channel passed 213,000 views in six months, starting from nothing.

Yes. We optimize accounting and CPA websites to rank on Google (SEO), to be the answer inside AI assistants (AEO), and to be cited by generative engines like ChatGPT (GEO), so the firm shows up whether prospects use search or AI.

We report every month across GA4, Google Search Console, SEO, AEO, and channel metrics like views, watch time, and subscriber growth, so every result is transparent and tied to real data.
